Welcome to the South High PTSO!

A parent organization is only as strong as the parents involved, and we are fortunate to have a strong parent presence at South. As a collective group, we look forward to building a strong network for students, parents, and teachers. As a collective group, we will strive to enhance and strengthen the educational and social experience of our entire school community. We are committed to celebrating our amazing staff, student body, and the incredible families that support them.

Join Us

Please join the South High Parent Teacher Student Organization (SHPTSO). We are not affiliated with any national organization, so 100% of your membership money goes towards programs and grants for South High School. Membership is $10 and all of the money stays right here at South.

We will keep you informed of the various programs and events that support our PTSO mission. Board members and committee chairs coordinate the projects for which our parents graciously volunteer. We meet regularly with the Principal, teachers, parents and students who help set priorities for programs and funding.

We work closely with the administration to pass on important information to our membership. This is often included in the weekly bulletin posted by Dr. Almon.

Follow Us

We’ve joined social media! We will do our best to advertise volunteer needs and our events through these channels.

What does PTSO membership money fund?

We sponsor events throughout the year that make our students’ high school experience fun and memorable. Some of the events PTSO has helped fund are:

  • All School Breakfast (Homecoming week and February Spirit Week)
  • Quarterly candy give-away at lunch
  • Black and Gold banquet
  • Senior Fun Day
  • Senior Night of Inspiration
  • Staff luncheons on registration and parent-teacher conference days

We also enrich the work environment for SAHS teachers and staff by providing luncheons during registration and conference days, as well as offering grant and scholarship opportunities for teachers and students.

We look forward to working with you as a member of the SHPTSO!
